Day 1: ... - Izmir (D)
Arrive in Izmir, the “Pearl of the Aegean” and Turkey’s third largest city. Upon arrival, you must purchase your Visa and then pass through passport control and have your passport stamped. You must then proceed to baggage claim and then to the International Arrivals gate where you will meet your English-speaking, Club ABC Tours guide. Transfer to your hotel. Check-in is usually in the afternoon, so you can leave your luggage at the hotel and enjoy lunch in the area. The afternoon is at your leisure to get acquainted with this lovely city located along Turkey’s sunny Aegean coastline with palm-lined promenades, broad avenues and green parks set in sweeping curves along a circular bay. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight.

Day 2: Izmir - Pergamum - Izmir (B)
After breakfast, visit Pergamum, one of the most impressive classical sites in Turkey. It was here that parchment was invented. Its library once held 200,000 books, rivaling Alexandria’s. Visit the ruins of the Red Basilica and the Asclepion, the world’s first Medical Center. Continue to the Acropolis, Royal Palace, Zeus Altar and the Temples of Athena, Trojan and Dionysus. See the Pergamum Theater, said to be the steepest theater of the Ancient World with 80 tiers, seating 10,000 spectators. Return to Izmir overnight.

Day 3: Izmir - Sardis - Izmir (B,L)
Visit Sardis, the Lydian capital city where coins were first minted at the end of the 7th century. It is also home to early Judaism and early Christianity. Tour the largest Synagogue of the ancient times, the Marble Road, the Roman Gymnasium and the remains of Temple of Artemis, which became one of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation, all Turkey. Return to Izmir to visit Alexander the Great’s “Velvet” Castle with its magnificent panoramic view of the city and the Bay of Izmir.

Day 4: Izmir - Ephesus - Selcuk - Kusadasi (B,L,D)
After breakfast, take a full day tour of the ancient city of Ephesus, the best-preserved and major Ionian city dating back to 1300B.C. Drive to Selcuk to visit the House of Virgin Mary, said to be where Mary spent the last few years of her life and the Basilica of St. John who accompanied Virgin Mary to Ephesus. Continue to legendary Ephesus, among the most famous cities of the ancient world and one of the biggest cities of the Roman era. A treasury of all the riches of Ionian culture, Ephesus had a reputation for philosophy and critical thinking. The Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, as well as countless statues, theaters, libraries, markets and smaller temples were all architectural symbols of the city's fame. See the Celsus Library, the marble paved Arcadian/Harbor Road, the Brothel, the Roman baths, the Theater where St. Paul preached and the statue of Ephesians’ Artemis. Transfer to your hotel in Kusadasi for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Kusadasi - Aphrodisias - Pamukkale (B,L,D)
Depart Kusadasi to tour Aphrodisias, the city of Aphrodite, to visit the Theater, the Odeon, the Stadium, the Agora, the Hadrian Baths and the Bishop’s Palace. Continue on to Pamukkale, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where calcite-laden waters have created “Cotton Palace”, an unreal landscape made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. The ruins of the baths, temples and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site. Marvel at this beautiful snow-white “frozen waterfalls” and enjoy an optional therapeutic bath in the hot spring waters. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Pamukkale - Antalya (B,L,D)
Enjoy a scenic drive en route to Antalya, “the Turkish Riviera”, on the Mediterranean coast. Here the fragrant pine clad Toros (Taurus) Mountains sweep down to the sparkling clear sea forming an irregular coastline of rocky headlands and secluded covers. Since its’ founding in the second century B.C., Antalya has been inhabited by many, including the Romans, Byzantines and Seljuks before it came under Ottoman rule. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Antalya (B,L,D)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning tour of ancient Pamphylian cities of Perge and Aspendos. Just outside the city walls of Perge lies a Greco-Roman stadium once seating 25,000 and the largest and best-preserved Theater of the Ancient World (seating 15,000), which is still used today for annual festivals. Continue on to Aspendos to see the spectacular Kursunlu Waterfall that plunges over the cliff edge to the sea. After lunch, return to Antalya and visit the Antalya Museum, winner off the 1990 European Prize for its collection of archeological and ethnographic finds.

Day 8: Antalya (B, D)
Enjoy a walking tour of Antalya’s Old Quarter. In the picturesque old quarter of Kaleici, narrow, winding streets and historic Ottoman houses abut the ancient city walls. The rest of the day is at leisure. The elegant, fluted 13th century minaret of the YivIi Minareli Mosque has become Antalya’s symbol. Wander along the picturesque marina, one of Turkey’s loveliest. Here you’ll find many shops and cafes. Optional excursions to visit Demre, birthplace of St. Nicholas – the original Santa — Kedova, Myra and Finike are available. Dinner and overnight in Antalya.

Day 9: Antalya - Konya - Cappadocia (B,L,D)
Drive over the scenic Taurus Mountains to visit Konya. Explore the Seljuk architecture and see the Mevlana Museum, the 13th century “Whirling Dervish” Monastery. After lunch, continue to Cappodocia, a UNESCO World Heritage site where nature has scoured surrealistic moonscape shapes and the persecuted Christians dug underground cities and churches during the 9th century. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Cappodocia (B,L,D)
Enjoy a full day tour of Cappodocia; visit the Goreme Open Air Museum with its fairy chimneys and dozens of cave churches, the Zelve Valley, Uchisar, the pottery making town of Avanos and the underground city of Ozkonak.

Day 11: Cappadocia - Kayseri - Istanbul (B)
Drive to Kayseri airport for your short flight to Istanbul. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure in Istanbul. Istanbul is the only city in the world located on two continents, Europe and Asia. In its thousands of years of history, it has been the capital of three great empires - Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. You might explore Kapali Carsi, or Covered Bazaar, a fascinating labyrinth of streets and passages housing more than 4,000 shops.

Day 12: Istanbul (B,L)
The entire city of Istanbul is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its strategic location on the Bosphorus peninsula, the Black Sea and the Mediterranean has made this Istanbul a major political, religious and artistic center for over 2,000 year. After breakfast, visit some of the city’s finest masterpieces including St. Sophia Museum, built in the 6th century, once the largest Christian Church in the world. Visit the Topkapi Palace, the Imperial Residence of the Ottoman Sultans, with its displays of priceless collections of artifacts, jewelry and rare porcelain. See the Blue Mosque, built during the Ottoman Empire’s golden age with its six minarets and famous for its stunning blue Iznik tiles and view the ancient Hippodrome of Constantine where chariot races were once held.

Day 13: Istanbul - ... (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
